CARTINGTON PARISH COUNCIL

 

The Meeting of Cartington Parish Council was held in the Dovecote Room at the Jubilee Hall on Monday 11th April 2011.

APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE : No apologies had been received.

 

DECLARATION OF INTERESTS : None

 

MINUTES : The Minutes of the last meetings were circulated, confirmed that they were in order and signed by the Chairman.

 

MATTERS ARISING :  It was reported that some of the pot holes were being repaired at the moment but filling in the pot holes was alright in the short term but really the roads need totally resurfacing in the area.

 

STATEMENT OF ACCOUNTS AND ANNUAL RETURN : The statement of accounts for the year ending 31st March 2011 was agreed upon and the annual governance statement was approved by the council.  It was also agreed to ask Mr Logan-Wood again to do the Internal Audit.

 

PLANNING : No planning applications had been received.

 

REPORT OF THE PARISH COUNCIL CLUSTER MEETING : The clerk and Councillor Macey attended this meeting.  The general feeling was that we would be better off in this area if we joined forces as a single voice to go forward.   The worth of this was to pick up on local points which might be of interest – potential projects : Broadband/Wind Farms.

It was agreed to take the informal route with the cluster .  The next Cluster meeting was arranged for 20th July venue to be decided upon.

  

CORRESPONDENCE : Letters from Community Action Northumberland, Age Concern and Great North Air Ambulance had been received asking for donations.  It was agreed to give £20.00 to CAN and £40.00 to GNAA.
 

A letter from NCC regarding Licensing consultations for Taxi’s was read out along with a Licensing Policy for Sex Establishments.  It was felt that neither of these were relevant to this parish.
 

NCC will no longer be publishing or delivering the monthly magazine Northumberland News but from July they will be issuing a quarterly electronic version which residents can sign up to.  There will also be a small number of hard copies available in the local libraries.
