The Meeting of Cartington Parish Council was held in the Dovecote Room at the Jubilee Hall on Monday16th January 2012.

APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE : No apologies for absence.
POLICE REPORT : Mr David Brown was welcomed to the meeting. Mr Brown explained the role of the Police Volunteers and that they have been doing speed watches around the area. Community messaging is very successful and the new emergency service number 101 is going well.
DECLARATION OF INTERESTS : None
MINUTES : The Minutes of the last meetings were circulated, confirmed that they were in order and signed by the Chairman.
ACCOUNTS : Accounts for payment were presented and it was agreed to pay Mrs A Winter £265.25 for Honorarium and £56.00 for Hire of the hall for the year. The Clerk reported that after paying these cheques there would be £48.84 to carry forward to next year.
REPORT FROM CLUSTER MEETING : Mr Fendley was elected as Chairman. Elsdon and Harbottle don’t want to join the Cluster so this was taken into account when apportioning each parish’s payment. The next cluster meeting was organized for Monday 5th March but a small committee would get together before then to sort out the purpose and objectives to bring back to the meeting.
11/01498/FUL – Alterations to convert buildings into Boarding Kennels at Bank House Farm, Cartington – Councillors’ had a site meeting and sent recommendations to NCC.
BOUNDARY REVIEW : Councillor Bridgett reported that responses are in and will be published in the spring.
DUNKIRK BRIDGE : Work on this bridge is to start in late summer. CPC will get copy of plans. The money is coming from Armstrong Estates and County Council and it will be widened and strengthened. There will be a diversion for about three weeks.
BROADBAND : Councillor Bridgett is sending letters to all the residents within the Rothbury exchange asking for support. Rothbury and Cornwall are the only places that have State Aid approved for funding. Hopefully it will go live sometime this year.
NCC Mobile Library Service – they are currently reviewing this service .
NCC Highway Services in Winter – Leaflet containing useful information, guidance and contact details for residents over the winter months.
Rt Hon Sir Alan Beith re Boundary Review – giving his views on the proposals and asking the parish councils to give serious consideration to entering a submission against the Rothbury area being added to Hexham.
Alnwick Playhouse – asking for financial support.
Great North Air Ambulance – asking for financial support.
DATES OF NEXT MEETING : The date of the next meeting was booked for Monday 16th April 2012 at 7pm . Further meetings were provisionally booked for Monday 9th July, Monday 8th October, Monday January 14th 2013 and Monday 8th April 2013.
